The Biter

Guess who's bottom teeth came in?!
And, does she ever know how to use them! If you have ever seen the movie, Lemony Snicket's: A Series of Unfortunate Events, you might remember the little girl, Sunny, the biter. That is so Isla.
I have never been so afraid to nurse. Every time I feed her, I have to pay close attention, otherwise she gets me. Hard. She smiles so big when I tell her no, like she knows she isn't supposed to bite, but can get away with it. I have a hard time teaching her not to bite since she is still so young. I have flicked her cheek lightly, but she continues to bite. And, she obviously doesn't truly know what the word 'no' means. Anybody else have that problem? What did/or are you doing about it?

T-R-O-U-B-L-E!

I mean, seriously, she is way too cute, right?

  1. She really couldn't be cuter. I have no advice. Norah who is nearly 2 thinks biting is HYSTERICAL. She just laughs and laughs and pretends to bite you, but she will if you let her get that close. Thank goodness we are past the nursing stage (but I do remember Ava doing this), I feel for you! Maybe every time she does it while nursing take her off, set her beside you and firmly say "That hurts mommy. We don't bite. Say sorry to mommy!!" (I she can't do that yet but I swear they understand everything from the get go) then try again. And consistently do this until she gets it? Good luck, OUCH!!!

  2. Oh you so have my sympathy. So Preston bit me TWICE, and I thought I would die. It was horrible. The first time he did I told him no and took him off and wouldn't let him nurse for a couple minutes. The second time I told him no and put him down on the floor and walked away. He was so upset. I left for like 3 minutes. He has NEVER done it again....
