Today, I am linking up with From Mrs. to Mama for Show and Tell Monday. 1. Tell us about your family traditions for Thanksgiving
We don't really have too many traditions. We usually try to get together with both of our families. Ja's family usually celebrates the day after, so we visit with my extended family on Thanksgiving and then make the 2+ hour drive to Ja's folk's house. We eat. Eat. Eat.
2. Tell us about your favorite foods
My favorites that I look forward to are the twice baked potatoes, stuffed mushrooms, cranberry sauce, and warm apple pie. Twice baked potatoes are my favorite! I could eat 10, skin and all. Love love them! Mmmm.
3. Show us a picture that reminds you of this holiday
My brother and his wife just came out from the east coast, and visited this last weekend, so my family celebrated Thanksgiving while they were here. We gathered together and grabbed a couple family photos.
4. Tell us, do you wait to decorate for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving?
I usually wait til afterwards to decorate. But, since technically we already celebrated Thanksgiving, I have decorated for Christmas, just inside though. The Christmas lights go up after Thanksgiving, and we don't get a tree until after Thanksgiving. We will most likely get a tree next weekend. Although, we might have to squeeze it in this coming weekend, since I have a 3 year old super excited for one!
5. Tell us what you are thankful for this year
I am very thankful for my wonderful husband who helps me with the ladies and around the house. I am thankful for my little girls and they way they make me laugh all day. I am thankful for my family and friends, and our house. I am extremely thankful to the Lord for providing us all our needs and for keeping our Arrayah safe. I am thankful for the promise of salvation we have in Him and that we will indeed get to see her again.
Have I mentioned lately that I love you? Mom
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful thanksgiving week and fun taking your beautiful little girls for a tree. I am so happy to read your blog and to share in reading your story. So often lately I have thought about how God allows people to say them right when you need to hear them. That was you yesterday! Yesterday was a horrible day, I had a member of my husbands family be so nasty all day yesterday. And I was feeling so discouraged about it last night. And then I read your encouraging comment and was reminded about God's goodness and provision in time of need. THANK YOU!!!! PS Preston has slept with us since he came home from the hospital in sept..... I love snuggling with him. But I sure do wish he slept through the night:-)
