Hello! Surprise, I didn't fall off the face of the earth. I have just been busy, and trying to enjoy the last bit of summer and spending time with my family, that I have totally slacked on blogging.
I can't believe that summer is basically over. It went by so fast and for the life of me, I can't even really remember what the heck we did this last month. I guess my camera is going to come in real handy trying to remember details like that.
We are all doing well over here. Ja will start school at the end of this month. This is his last year before he goes to graduate school where he will hopefully be able to begin teaching. I'm so excited for him.
Sahara is getting smarter everyday. I can't believe some of the things she remembers and the connections she makes. I think in a few years, she may be smarter than me. We are trying to get back into the swing of schooling here, and I have to say, it's tough! We have been working on the alphabet, and will move on to numbers, seasons, etc... Ja works with her a lot with addition and subtraction, and she has been doing really well in that category.
Isla is keeping me on my toes. She repeats everything you say. Everything. She understands pretty much everything and knows how to tell me what she wants. If she can't say it, she takes my hand and shows me what she wants. But, this lady has a temper and tantrums happen constantly. She is so funny, though and the girls really get along so well. They play together all the time and dance parties happen quite frequently.
We had quite the day last Friday. I had a doctor check up and my mom met us at the office to watch the girls. We are almost to the office when I hear Isla throw up in her car seat. All over herself. She had had milk that morning, and I am finding that both girls are not allowed any milk if a car ride is in the cards for the day. I realize that I don't have a single article of clothing to put Isla in. My appointment is in 5 minutes. I undress her and wrap a blanket around her. The only thing we can think is to have Ja go grab an outfit down the road at one of the stores. Until then, the poor child is nude. Well, except for a diaper. We go into the office, and within minutes, Isla is out of the blanket, running around the office. Nothing like having the naked child in the doctor office be yours. The office, by the way, is quite full. Lots of people in the waiting room. Lots of people probably wondering, 'why the heck is that small child nude?'
She was nude for a while. A long while. I'm not sure how long, but I felt like it was forever. I stared at the door watching for Ja to come through them. Finally, he comes. With a dress rolled up in his hands. Yay, I think! Until, he unravels it and I notice there is no price tag. 'Ummm, where did you get this dress?' Goodwill. Now, I have nothing against goodwill at all. In fact, I think that there are some awesome buys there. But, I'm not going to lie, I do find it a bit disturbing to put a used dress on a little girl without washing it first. I realize that I either have to put this dress on her, or have her continue to be naked. Believe it or not, this was a hard decision to make. Good thing it was a cute dress. I was so ready to get out of there. Note to self: pack extra clothes. Put extra clothes in the car. Maybe two.
