Zoo Trip

We have had such beautiful weather here, which is very unusual for our area at this time of year. It has been wonderful! I can't get enough of the sunshine and dream of living somewhere with weather as great as this all year round! Does it seem to anyone else that when you're sick, you don't feel near as sick when out in the sun? The girls came down with fevers, colds, and horrible coughs just a week or more ago. Unfortunately, they were kind enough to share it with their parents. Fun days around here. The girls were a lot worse since we didn't catch the fever part of it, and adults have the power to put themselves back to sleep even when not feeling well. Children are completely incapable of this super power, I found out. But, today, the girls were better, Ja and I had a bit of the sniffles, but we headed to the zoo and loved every moment outside.

Isla had a blast. I'm not sure she even knew half of the exhibits had animals in them, but she was so excited the entire time. Anytime she saw an animal move, mostly the giraffe and elephant, (obviously too large to miss), she was shocked.

Sahara was over the moon to be at the zoo, finally this year; and kept begging to see the bears and crocodiles. I can't even remember how many times she asked for a pet. Turtles, flamingos, you name it, she wanted it as a pet. I am thinking more of a fish down the road.
After being gone every weekend for a couple months, it was so great and fun to be just a family of four hanging out at the zoo. Being together. Laughing and enjoying each other.

During the first part of our trip, the animals were walking around and a lot of them were having their meal time, which was fun to watch. I have never seen the hippo move so quickly.

There is a new baby at the zoo, two in fact. An elephant, another a monkey. They were so stinking adorable! They stayed so close to their mamas.

Here's hoping to more sunshine and warm weather to enjoy!
