A Little About Me

Although, I have spilled my heart, soul, every emotion out on this blog, I realized recently that I haven't really shared too much about me. The little things. What I like and don't like. What I am really like. And, perhaps, these little things will help you get a better idea of who I am.

1. I love all things girly and feminine. Skirts, heels, lipstick, nail polish, pink, make up, etc...
2. There are only about 5 that I like to watch, The Office, Parks and Recreation, Downton Abbey, Project Runway, and The Bachelor. Everything else we watch are usually children shows/movies or old shows like the Andy Griffith Show, I Love Lucy and the Cosby Show.
3. I love waking up and walking out into a spotlessly clean house. Best.Feeling.Ever. The amount of times this has happened since having multiple children...about 6. Haha, just kidding. I have gotten so much better, lately. Now I make it a habit to pick up the house before I even think about climbing into bed. Helps a lot to have both girls go to sleep on their own and at the same time most nights.
4. I am a singer. I love to sing and dance. Hip hop is my favorite dance style and eventually I would love to take a class. I think that if I hadn't gotten married so young, I might have tried out for American Idol or something crazy like that. Who knows.
5. I love to laugh and to make people laugh.
6. I am a complete dork and goofball. The crazy singing, dancing goofy nut that makes songs up about bubble gum and sharks, that's me. Sahara thinks it is quite funny, and has already begun mimicking me. Isla loves to dance and begins singing whenever anyone starts singing. We usually have crazy dancing parties several times a week in our living room.
7. I can't stand when people rubberneck while driving. It drives me crazy. If people would just drive and look forward, rather than straining their necks and slowing down to snail speed to see the car accident or who got pulled over, traffic would not be nearly as bad.
8. I have become much more of a mama bear since having my daughters. I don't mind saying what needs to be said if my kids' safety or well-being is in jeopardy.
9. I love picnics, parks, swimming, the beach, tennis, anything that we can do or play in the sunshine. But, only in the warm sun, do I like to go outside. I am a fair-weather kind of gal. I hate the cold and rain. Haha, and I live in Oregon....
10. I'm kind of an animal freak. Every mouse, bird, snake, etc, that gets brought in from our two cats, gets saved. There have been a few that the timing was a bit off, RIP, but, the live ones get a ticket to freedom. This usually comes with a snack of cheese or bird seed. My hubby thinks I'm crazy and calls me Dr. Doolittle. We recently tried to save a bird that I found having a staring contest with our cat in our living room. A cage was bought, since it's wing was hurt. As well as some bird seed, and a toy with a couple bells on it. It lived for a few days, but unfortunately, didn't make it. Ja quickly disposed of it before Sahara went to check on it, and was later told that it flew away with it's family. She will eventually find out the truth when she goes to read these posts when she is older.
11. I love to refinish furniture. It's one of my favorite things to do. I would love to have a little shop that I could sell refinished pieces.
12. I would also love to be a professional baby namer. That's right, there is such a thing as that. And, I would love it! I have already come up with names for several of my friends and family members. It's one of the funnest things to do, I think.

So, there you have it. A few dumb, useless things to know about me. :) Hope you can see a bit more of me through these little silly facts.

  1. I love it! Such neat things to learn about you! The only thing I watch is Downton Abbey (and my old Gilmore Girls DVD's). There are a few others I'd like to eventually watch. We are those people who watch a series when it is completely over and will watch an episode every night for months.
I cannot sing hardly at all. I envy you! However, I did take hip hop dance classes in my early 20's and it was so much fun. I'd definitely love to do it again. Such a great exercise as well.
