Off to Florida!

We leave tomorrow for beach time! Right now, my house is still a mess and we are not completely packed. I still have a load of laundry going, dishwasher that needs to be run, muddy buddies to make, vacuuming to do, and straightening up here and there. And, it's 10:20 pm. Great. It's going to be a late night.

We will be driving- crazy us, but in an RV with my folks and little brother and sister. Cozy. I bought a ton of gifts for Sahara to keep busy with as we travel. She has never gone in the car for more than 3 hours, so we'll see how she does. Her gifts were so much fun to get, and I can't wait to have her open them! We got her a aquadoodle pad, books, window clings, pool toys, beach ball, moon dough, a couple polly pockets, and a few more things I can't remember-but are wrapped and ready to go!

The diaper bag will also be traveling with us, just in case someone makes her appearance before she should! Pray that we will not need it!!! I would love to go, relax, get back, and then have a newborn. (I'm really looking forward to that hospital stay. That might sound crazy, but I get to sleep in a bed without a toddler kicking me early in the morning and asking for milk.)

I found out today that Sahara can open child-proof caps. She was in our bedroom watching Winnie the Pooh while I folded clothes and packed. I stepped out to use the bathroom and when I came back, she informed me that she had helped herself to her gummy vitamins. Asking a two year old how many she actually had is completely worthless, just to let you know. I got a million answers; two, three, five, lots and lots, etc... I called poison control and was told that thankfully she would have to eat almost the entire bottle to harm herself. There isn't enough iron in them to do much, and she had just eaten some pasta so the lady thought she would be fine. She told me that if she threw up to call back and they would decide whether I should go to the hospital or not. Thankfully, she acted normally and we didn't have to worry about taking her in. (And, just to clarify, the vitamins were being packed, that's why they were in reach.)

Next time I post, I'll have a million pictures, and now, I am looking around my house and starting to panic, so I think I had better go finish up the tons of chores I still have to do! Have a good couple of weeks!!

  1. Wow! In a car?? I will pray that it goes well, it sounds like Sahara will be surrounded by entertainment and fun people to keep her busy. I hope Isla says in her cozy spot until you return & she can make her proper debut. Enjoy your vacation, sounds like fun!!
