Isla's Birthday

This post is extremely late, considering her birthday was at the end of April. But, we just celebrated a couple weekends ago since Ja's mom wasn't doing well at the time of her true birthday.
Over at his folks house, we did have snow cones and she opened a few presents on her birthday, so we didn't completely cheat her.

And, although it was her first birthday, her big number one, we chose, or mainly I chose, to keep it very low key and small. I have come to find out that birthday, holidays, etc, are much more fun when you are the child rather than the adult throwing the party/ being the Easter bunny, Santa, etc... So, just my parents, brother, sisters and their families, Ja's sister and her hubby, and my cousin and his wife and kiddos came. (Now that I write this all out, it sounds a lot larger than I previously led on.)
We celebrated on Memorial day with a BBQ and cupcakes and/or pudding pies. Isla had fun, she really didn't understand anything but did like opening presents and thoroughly enjoyed her cupcake. The theme was Minnie Mouse, she's a big fan :)
The cupcakes were so easy to do. I, of course, found the idea off of pinterest. Chocolate cake mix, white frosting, the fluffier the better. The ears are bite sized oreos and the bows are just pieces of fruit by the foot that I tied. They took no time at all, which since I wanted it low key was perfect.

Happy Birthday, Isla! We love you so much. You are our little sunshine and we are so blessed to have you as our baby. Love always, your Mama and Dada
