Over at his folks house, we did have snow cones and she opened a few presents on her birthday, so we didn't completely cheat her.
And, although it was her first birthday, her big number one, we chose, or mainly I chose, to keep it very low key and small. I have come to find out that birthday, holidays, etc, are much more fun when you are the child rather than the adult throwing the party/ being the Easter bunny, Santa, etc... So, just my parents, brother, sisters and their families, Ja's sister and her hubby, and my cousin and his wife and kiddos came. (Now that I write this all out, it sounds a lot larger than I previously led on.)
The cupcakes were so easy to do. I, of course, found the idea off of pinterest. Chocolate cake mix, white frosting, the fluffier the better. The ears are bite sized oreos and the bows are just pieces of fruit by the foot that I tied. They took no time at all, which since I wanted it low key was perfect.
Happy Birthday, Isla! We love you so much. You are our little sunshine and we are so blessed to have you as our baby. Love always, your Mama and Dada
