Valentine's Day

Or, as Sahara calls it, Balentime's Day. So much has been going on around here. House-sitting, sleep training, dealing with my wonderfully, sweet granddaddy death, (that deserves a post of itself), and catching up on Downton Abbey. Lots of posts to come, but before Valentine's Day is way too far in the past to care about posting on, here it is...
We had a special Valentine's here. One that included my first true love and Valentine. As well as our two little Valentines. It was still romantic, sharing a special evening with my sweet hubby surrounded by our tiny beasts that we have together.

Ja had school and so the girls and I were home all day. Before he came home, we got all dressed up in something red or pink. Sahara and I did our makeup, (because, unfortunately, believe it or not, makeup does not get put on everyday when I'm home all day.) We did our hairs and cleaned the house. Daddy came home to find some good lookin' ladies. He brought home bouquets for us, a dozen red roses for Mama, and "rainbow" roses for the girls to split. (Sahara was quite generous and allowed Isla to have 2 out of the dozen.) While we got the bouquets in vases and placed where we wanted them, Ja cooked supper for us. Lobster tails, spaghetti with browned butter and mizithra cheese. Delicious. We stuffed ourselves, gave the girls a bath. Cleaned the kitchen. Put the little ladies to bed, and eventually, after the house was pickup and homework done, we were able to flop into bed.

Sahara loved everything. She is such a girly girl and having Daddy bring her flowers is seriously one of her favorite things. She was loving the bubbly apple cider, and special chocolates that he also brought home. For her, it was a wonderful day.

I guess it may not have been the most romantic evening we have ever had on a Valentine's Day, but for some reason, it was perfect this year. Special. Full of love, which is what that holiday is all about. Something that I am so incredibly thankful for. I guess Sahara summed it all up perfectly, "I love the whole family!"

I hope you all had a wonderful and special day, spending it with the people you love!
Sahara had the camera. :)

The Martinelli's that Sahara couldn't get enough of!

Her hair is finally long enough for the world's tiniest side-fountain

The extra special treat my Valentine surprised me with.
