The first Christmas activity we did this year was a train ride on the Holiday Express. So much fun! I had never been on a train, and was probably more excited than Sahara. The girls were matching in their leopard skirts, and it might sound silly, but I was so excited to have them match. I love sisters in matching outfits. :)
The train was all decorated for Christmas with wreaths, candy canes, lights, and Christmas trees in the welcoming car. After we had ridden for a few minutes, Santa came out with a couple helpers and handed out candy canes. We first heard the "ho, ho, ho," from behind the curtain before Santa came out, and Sahara's face lit up and said, "I didn't know Santa lived on this train!" When he came out, he took pictures with the girls. Sahara was mostly in shock and just sort of stood there with her mouth open. After Santa went on down the car, Sahara realized she hadn't told him what she wanted for Christmas, and begged to go find him. We found Santa while we were exiting the train, and Sahara asked for her harmonica and boogie board.
