Sahara is quite the chatterbox, too. I don't think she ever stops talking except for when she is asleep, but even right before she is asleep, I hear her singing or talking or humming. She always has something to say, or ask, or demand...mostly, demand. She is a small dictator. And, we haven't really learned the whole patient thing yet, so I usually find myself going, "hold on! I can only do one thing at a time. Just wait one minute!!"
We are working on a couple of other things, like not saying "mine!" with a snarl to other children. And, "my do it!" meaning, "I'll do it!" This is what I hear all day. She loves to do everything herself, which most of the time I let her do, just because it's something small and I don't really mind, but the teeth brushing, and the putting on the shoes takes forever if she tries it all by herself.
As much as she is a work out, she is a blast to be around! She is hilarious, and is cracking me up all the time. She is super polite, always saying please, thank you, and excuse you me. And, she obeys 90% of the time. I love this little lady! She sings and dances and is always happy, unless she is hungry or tired. I love driving in the car, because she sits in her seat and talks to herself while looking out the window, or we sing a million nursery rhymes and songs. (Our radio was taken out of our car for Ja's business a while ago, and has yet to be replaced, so this singing is completely me and Sahara! Yep, I can't wait for a radio! I mean, how many times can you sing 'down by the bay' without going crazy? 20 times, that's no exaggeration either.)
Sahara loves to play with baby dolls! She always has at least one with her, usually Baby Blue or Baby Green, she came up with those names on her own. She pushes them in her tiny baby stroller all around the house with her too big plastic high heels, purse, keys, and pretend cell phone. She loves anything girly, tutus, nails painted, bracelets, etc... And, as of a couple days ago, she loves loves loves backpacks! Yesterday, she borrowed my little sister's Pooh backpack and made me wear the hot pink Barbie backpack, and we walked all around the neighborhood 'going to school'.
In other news, we have finally decided what we want on Arrayah's gravestone. We couldn't figure out what we wanted it to say, so she has just her name and birthday on her temporary marker right now. But, we came up with something we love and I went a couple days ago to the cemetery and spoke to them about her new big marker. It will say...

"...where trouble melts like lemon drops,
high above the chimney tops,
that's where you'll find me..."
I am so excited to see it! I think there will be a tiny black bird that flies next to her name. This song is one of the songs I used to sing while I was pregnant with Ry, and the first line is what I am going to get tattooed on the inside of my wrist on her birthday next year. So, it means a lot.
Tomorrow we will be heading to the coast for the day, which will be our first beach day this year! Our summer has just gotten here, so it's finally warm enough to head to the freezing cold coast! Yay! :) Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I'll leave you with some pictures of this summer.
Just so you can see what a tiny thing she was 2 summers ago...

Love what her marker will say:-( Bittersweet. Absolutely perfect though. Where do you live that it is just getting warm??? We live in New England, and the water at the beach is always cold but we try to brave it anyways.
ReplyDeleteI will write more on my blog later, but prayers please as I just found out I have another pregnancy complication: Cholestasis:-(
I love the sentiment on the marker...I think it is very fitting <3 Hope your beach adventure went well, not as nice a day as we hoped but if you are having fun, who cares!
